Fall weekly classes begin the week of September 7th, registration is ongoing! If your selected class is full, please sign up for the waitlist and you will be notified when a space becomes available. We will contact via phone to confirm you still want the waitlisted class before enrolling you or your child.

Adult Ceramics Ages 16 +

Treat yourself with this weekly class covering throwing and slab techniques that display clay material's best qualities. We’ll work with various altering techniques and additions of slabs, handles, and spouts to create an assortment of functional forms from the potters wheel to hand building. Bring your project ideas! Includes all necessary tools and 11 lbs of clay each month. Beginning and advanced potters welcome. 2 hrs

Pottery Forms Ages 9+

(Previously Functional Pottery) Enter the exciting world of functional and sculptural pottery as students learn fundamentals of working with clay. Using the pottery wheel and hand building, we will make decorative figures and functional items such as plates and bowls. Students will have a demonstration of new skills each class and structured work time to create their own ideas with instructor support. 75 min

Ceramic Creations Ages 4 - 9

Be introduced to multiple art mediums in this combination class. Teachers pull from students natural curiosity and interests as they paint, draw, build with clay, and try out numerous art mediums each week. Art Discovery is our most recommended class for young artists! 60 min

2D Foundations Ages 8 +

Prerequisite to all beginner and advanced 2D courses

Students expand their understanding of drawing concepts by learning about shape and form, light and shadow, perspective, color theory, and composition. 60 min

Drawing 1 Ages 8 +

Prerequisite (2D Foundations) Students review and practice the fundamental drawing techniques and skills; observation, usage of materials, space, shading, colors, and lighting to help portray their thoughts and ideas through their artwork. Advanced Drawing Ages 9+

Prerequisite (Drawing 1) Humans are one of the most complex forms to draw, learn the proportions and anatomy of the human figure through expressive gestures and detailed portraits. We will use images, poseable figures, and ourselves to further our abilities and knowledge of the figure. 60 min

Prerequisite (2D Foundations) Students begin their journey by learning the fundamentals of character design; exploring basic anatomy, shape language, cartooning principles, and character staging. New classes begin the first week of every month. 60 min

Comic Art 1 Ages 8 +

Prerequisite (2D Foundations) Students will create a one-shot (mini) comic as they learn the fundamentals of visual storytelling: story structure, outlining and storyboarding a comic, inking and coloring techniques, and lettering. New classes begin the first week of every month. 60 min

Advanced Comic Art Advanced Comic Art

Advanced Comic Art Ages 9+

Prerequisite (Comic Art 1) Students extend their visual storytelling journey by studying different kinds of comics, including Eastern styles (manga & manhwa), creating 1-page themed comics, practicing different visual storytelling methods, and exploring their own voice as a comic artist. 60 min

Painting 1 Painting 1

Painting 1 Ages 8 +

Prerequisite (2D Foundations) Focusing on elements of line, shape, color, and value while discovering students personal artistic style. Students will be taught skills and technique unique to multiple paint mediums, allowing them to choose what appeals most to their creative vision. 60 min

Advanced Painting Ages 9+

Prerequisite (Painting 1)

Extend practice through still life paintings, collage, and portraiture. Discussing color, mixing, and layering as we work on stills and pieces based on collage, them move into large canvas portraits. 60 min

Fiber Art Fiber Art

Fiber Art Ages 8 +

Create one of a kind characters and sculptures through felting, weaving, crochet, and yarn craft. You will learn to sculpt in fiber, roving felt into shapes and forms to produce anything you can imagine, from favorite characters to animals or other fantastic creatures. 60 min

Adult Ceramic Bootcamp Adult Ceramic Bootcamp

Adult Ceramics Bootcamp Ages 18 +
Available: Saturday, November 6th from 12 – 5 pm
Sunday, November 14th from 12 - 5 pm

Learn everything you need to know to become a member of our adults only Eastside Pottery studio, or to confidently use the RAW space during open studio hours.

We will cover the following:

  • Wheel throwing
  • Trimming & carving leather hard pieces
  • Additions -handles and decorative detail
  • Hand building -serving dishes, sushi trays, sculptures
  • Glazing, underglazes, and resists
  • Variations of different clay bodies and glaze options

Bring a notebook so you can capture all your thoughts and ideas as we work through each part of creating with clay. This is a beginner course, no prior experience is needed. You will create multiple pieces in class that will start you on your pottery journey and need to be picked up or finished outside of class.
