Chia Pets Chia Pets

Ch-ch-ch-chia! Remember those catchy commercials from back in the day? No? Ok, ask your parents... In this two day workshop we will make our own extra large pinch pot creature complete with elaborate facial features and details. Your chia pet will be destined to grow a lush mane of green hair (or fur!) once brought home. An easy and fun way to start training your green thumb and flex your art muscles at the same time. Chia seed packet and instructions for growth included.

3D Figures 3D Figures

Take your 2D figure drawing to sculpture as we focus on basic anatomy and structure to create a 1-foot ceramic figure! Beginning with a thoughtful 2D drawing detailing where we will carve and paint, we will create your own figure - puling inspiration from favorite characters and your imagination! Learn how to add facial features and muscles through painting and carving details. Students are encouraged to bring inspiration for their clay piece to the first day of class.

Sculptural Portrait Sculptural Portrait

This fast-paced workshop will show you how to build elements for a human portrait bust from slabs of ceramic clay. Reinforcing that sculpting is like drawing in 3-dimensions, we'll take our ideas from paper to clay. Similar to a tailor's pattern, we will be cutting the shapes out of slabs of clay and form them into hollow, human shapes. You won't believe how fun and rewarding it is to make a successful and expressive human form.
