When we are unable to glaze finish a ceramic piece, an additional visit during open studio to glaze (paint) pieces created will be included in workshop cost

Wheel workshops - Operating a pottery wheel and learning the ins and outs of working with clay takes concentration and time, students enrolled in ceramic classes need to be prepared to follow all written and verbal directions in regards to their safety and the safety of everyone working in the space.

In this workshop, you will take your wheel-thrown pieces beyond perfectly smooth and into something far more expressive. Sometimes a pot turns out technically “right” but still feels like it’s missing something—this is where the fun begins. You will embrace the wonky by intentionally altering your thrown forms with dents, twists, waves, dimples, and bold textures.
Experimenting with a wide range of tools and unexpected materials like rope, stamps, sticks, and more to push your pottery in new directions. Even if you’ve taken this workshop before, the creative possibilities are endless, with new ways to twist, reshape, and personalize every piece. This class is perfect for artists who are comfortable centering and throwing cylinders and are ready to take creative risks and make pottery that truly stands out.

Clay Lab Clay Lab

Step into the world of clay and start creating ceramics that reflect your own ideas and style. In this workshop, you’ll explore both wheel throwing and hand building, giving you the freedom to experiment, build skills, and bring your ideas to life in a fully equipped studio.
Each day, you’ll begin with guided wheel and hand-building breakout instruction, then move into next-level techniques like altering forms and adding slabs, handles, and spouts. Whether you’re brand new or already comfortable with clay, this workshop helps you gain confidence, develop technical skills, and create functional and decorative pottery you’ll be proud to use—while feeling ready to work further in the studio.

Jars: Lidded Forms & Containers Jars: Lidded Forms & Containers

In this workshop, you will focus on creating functional jars and containers using the pottery wheel, with the option to explore hand building techniques as well. On the first day, you’ll throw several closed forms or build a hand built pinch-pot sphere to use as the base for a jar. On the second day, you’ll trim your pieces and add custom knobs, handles, and lids, turning your forms into finished, usable containers.

Designing Plates & Bowls Designing Plates & Bowls

Turn everyday meals into something special by creating your own handmade plates and bowls. In this workshop, you will design and create your own handmade dinnerware, focusing on a variety of plates and bowls. You’ll learn techniques for shaping consistent forms, controlling size and thickness, and creating sets that feel cohesive and functional.

Into the Fire: Raku Hand building Into the Fire: Raku Hand building

This specialty alternative-firing workshop is a two-day hands-on experience focused entirely on handbuilt ceramic forms. You will create multiple pieces using techniques like pinch, coil, and slab construction, with an emphasis on form, texture, and intentional design.
After the workshop, students can sign up for an included firing session later in the summer, where their pieces will be glazed and fired to completion in our outdoor Raku kiln. Raku firing is a fast-paced, dramatic process, that students will get to watch their pieces pulled from the kiln with tongs while glowing hot orange! Raku produces bold colors and metallic finishes, making every piece completely unique. Students must be at least 8 years old to participate. All work will go home with students the same night of the firing.
$215 includes 2 days of creating - and a following community raku firing!

Creative Creature in Clay Creative Creature in Clay

Creative Creature is all about imagination, creativity, and having fun bringing wild ideas to life in clay. In this class, you will design and build one or two unique hand built creatures, starting with a pinch pot, slab, or extruded base and then adding expressive details to make your creature truly your own.
You can invent your creature entirely from your imagination or roll the dice and use a creature-parts generator for playful, unexpected inspiration. This class encourages experimentation, storytelling, and creative freedom—perfect for artists who love fantasy, problem-solving, and creating something no one else has ever made.

My Mind in Clay: Boxes My Mind in Clay: Boxes

This workshop celebrates neurodiversity and gives you a creative space to express how your brain works through clay. In this class, you will design and build a lidded ceramic box, decorating each side with textures, forms, symbols, and imagery that represent how you think, feel, and experience the world.
You will explore the idea that there is no single “right” way for a brain to work—every brain works uniquely, influencing how we see, think, and make art. This class is open to everyone and is designed to be a safe, supportive environment where your ideas and perspectives are honored. When finished, you’ll leave with a meaningful ceramic box that holds significance both creatively and personally.
