Prerequisite (2D Foundations) Students review and practice the fundamental drawing techniques and skills; observation, usage of materials, space, shading, colors, and lighting to help portray their thoughts and ideas through their artwork. Comic Art 1
Ages 8 - 16
Prerequisite (2D Foundations) Students will create a one-shot (mini) comic as they learn the fundamentals of visual storytelling: story structure, outlining and storyboarding a comic, inking and coloring techniques, and lettering. New classes begin the first week of every month. 60 min

Character Design 1
Ages 8 - 16
Prerequisite (2D Foundations) Students begin their journey by learning the fundamentals of character design; exploring basic anatomy, shape language, cartooning principles, and character staging. New classes begin the first week of every month. 60 min

Painting 1
Ages 8 - 16
Prerequisite (2D Foundations) Focusing on elements of line, shape, color, and value while discovering students personal artistic style. Students will be taught skills and technique unique to multiple paint mediums, allowing them to choose what appeals most to their creative vision. 60 min

Ink Arts
Ages 8 - 16
Prerequisite (2D Foundations) A class designed for students interested in graphic styles to life like ink art. Learn techniques such as crosshatching, graphic design, and stylization, making art with ink pens, India ink + brushes, and printmaking. 60 min

Mastering Mixed Media
Ages 9 - 14
Take your art to the next level by acquiring new principles of visual illustration utilizing 2D and 3D art. Students will increase their confidence, grow as an artist, and make their own artistic decisions with guidance as they make craft projects in all mediums including painting, fiber art, and sketching. 60 min.

Community Art
Ages 14 - 18
Created specifically for high school aged students to come together, make art, and impact their community. Each week students will implement their own creative style and skill sets to make collaborative projects with peers. Planned projects so far include a group mural, ceramic vases for a cause, and pen & ink portraits to be displayed in town. No prior art experience necessary. 90 min. High schoolers - we know you're busy so you can choose to come on either Wednesday or Thursday night (one night per week) When registering - please select the day of the week you plan to come most, but know you can always switch it up and come to the other class instead.

Pottery Forms
Ages 9 - 16
Enter the exciting world of functional and sculptural pottery as students learn fundamentals of working with clay. Using the pottery wheel and hand building, we will make decorative figures and functional items such as plates and bowls. Students will have a demonstration of new skills each class and structured work time to create their own ideas with instructor support. 75 min

Advanced Drawing

Prerequisite (Drawing 1) Humans are one of the most complex forms to draw, learn the proportions and anatomy of the human figure through expressive gestures and detailed portraits. We will use images, poseable figures, and ourselves to further our abilities and knowledge of the figure. 60 min

Advanced Comic Art

Prerequisite (Comic Art 1) Students extend their visual storytelling journey by studying different kinds of comics, including Eastern styles (manga & manhwa), creating 1-page themed comics, practicing different visual storytelling methods, and exploring their own voice as a comic artist. 60 min

Extend practice through still life paintings, collage, and portraiture. Discussing color, mixing, and layering as we work on stills and pieces based on collage, them move into large canvas portraits. 60 min
